Letter to the President of the United States and the heads of allied nations.

Dear Sirs, 

In Vietnam, the war has been history for some time long enough for a new generation to grow up and mature. But on the S-shaped land on the coast of the South China Sea in Asia, the Vietnamese people have yet to enjoy all the natural rights and values that the Creator bestowed upon mankind and that they should be able to enjoy as well. Those natural rights and values were affirmed as an eternal truth in the United States Constitution, as well as stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They are the rights and values that in the past, more than 58,000 elite citizens - American soldiers, and those of allied countries did not hesitate to spend their youth to deliver and to defend against the wave of insane attacks from communism.

We, citizens who are so small facing the power and brutality of communism represented by the bloody hands of the current government, still long for the values of freedom, democracy and human rights. We would like to take a moment of silence to commemorate all those who have sacrificed for those values, as well as to remember all those who fell due to the war, regardless of their views, skin color, or ethnicity.

The obvious fact is that the Vietnamese and Americans had no conflicts that needed to be resolved by war, killings, and hatred. The people of the two countries had no conflicts or hatred. American soldiers and their relatives, those of allied countries, soldiers and their relatives in the Republic of Vietnam, soldiers and their relatives in the communist regime (the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in the past, or the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at present) also had no grudge against each other so they had to shoot at each other, or cause injuries, deaths, painful losses for all three sides.

The problem was the behavior of the state power in communist Vietnam, and the calculations and conflicting views on political power between the democratic government of the United States and the communist government of Vietnam. I think of a reunion, a tripartite meeting among relatives of the American and allied soldiers, relatives of the soldiers of the Republic of Vietnam, and relatives of the soldiers of the communist regime (the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam). Those soldiers, along with their relatives, naturally had no grudges against each other. And therefore, there were no convincing reasons for them to raise guns to shoot at each other, causing injuries, deaths and griefs to the families of all the sides. I believe that you, as politicians, as a president of a great power, and the heads of allied nations, along with your ambassadors who act as bridges and aides, have the capacity to arrange for a meeting among the relatives from the three sides. In our opinion, such a meeting should have been held a long time ago. And it promotes understanding of pain, sharing the loss, sharing the pain of the relatives of the soldiers from all the parties.

The people of Vietnam and the American people as well as the people of other countries have no problem in connecting with each other with friendship. The problem lies in the Communist Party of Vietnam's policies of lies, dictatorship, and inhuman violence. That party pursues communism and is a branch of international communism.

The Vietnamese people are still being handled by the dictatorial government that uses violence and irrational and inhuman coercion. I hope you and your colleagues care about this issue, and propose the US government to implement soft power solutions so that the Vietnamese people have the same opportunity as the American people, like the spirit expressed in the United States Declaration of Independence, written by Sir Thomas Jefferson, and made public on July 4, 1776: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

We hope that along with our righteous arguments, belief in the Almighty and in the truth that all peoples of different regions in this Earth deserve the freedoms to pursue happiness, those freedoms are natural and protected by a form progressive state organization.
